"Yashar ZAMANEH"; Radio Netherlands' Goof !

Radio Netherlands Worldwide has just published a piece on the situation of Yashar Khameneh; a young student from Iran whose father has been detained in Tehran.

The interesting point is that RNW has interviewed Yashar for this article but still does not know what is his last name!

Radio Natherlands Worldwide has introduced Yashar as Yashar Zamaneh! and actually Zamaneh is an Amsterdam-based Persian radio station! :)

Do Not Speak Persian because of Apple Racism!

19-year-old Sahar Sabet says an Apple Store in Georgia refused to sell her an iPad after a store representative overheard her speaking in Persian.
"Very hurtful, very embarrassing. I actually walked out in tears," Sabet told WSBTV about her experience.
According to Yahoo News: "When a reporter from the station returned to the same Apple Store with Sabet, the employee once again reiterated that it is Apple company policy to not sell products to anyone from Iran. The WSBTV reporter recorded video of the exchange on her phone."
Sabet is a U.S. citizen and a student at the University of Georgia.

One of the most ridiculous decisions by European Commission

Since last week I am reading everyday in social networks about one of the most ridiculous decisions by European Commission:
Suspending the residence permit approval of Iranian skilled migrants in Europe!
and The Netherlands has been a pioneer to keep Persian applications on hold.

Many times and specially since 2009 pro-democracy movement of Iranian people we have heard from EU politicians that Iran's people is separated from Iran's government and they should be supported through social, cultural and academic exchanges. Now it's a sign! EU has targeted the Persians directly, rather than the Islamic regime in Tehran.

Yesterday I read about the story on Persian Dutch Network and today a short piece has been published in Dutch daily NRC (12 June 2012).
Iranian community has been among the most successful migrant groups in integration to Dutch society. Now they are paying its price!

Finally Pres. Obama did something intellectual !

Although the US society is quite close and religious, Pres. Obama finally did something intellectual !

He supported the same-sex cuoples marriage and offering the equal rights to them.

BUT PLEASE DO NOT FORGET !

Gays and lesbians still can be executed in few countries. In the modern world it's the most ridiculous thing that people have their rights based on their sexuality, religion, race, language... Anway Welcome US to the modern World !

Watching Iran Air and missing Tehran...

I am @ Schiphol and seeing an Iran Air aircraft from the airport balcony.

I always hated the Iranian government but always loved Iran Air!

I have missed seating in an Iran Air aircraft and flying to Tehran; an airline which was called the "fastest growing airline" in the world in 1970s.

Sad days for all of us...
