A rare photo of Fereydoun Farrokhzad wedding in Tehran in September 1973.
Farrokhzad was one of the most popular and controversial showmen in the National Persian Television in 1970s who fled to the United States after 1979 Islamic Revolution in his homeland.
He finally ended up in Germany, where he finished his studies in Political Sciences in 1960s. Farrokhzad was a poet as well and some of his works were published in Germany which was warmly received by German literary circles.
The above photo was originally published in the Persian-language weekly 'Kayhan Havai'. Farrokhzad was 34 on that time. Later it was revealed that he is gay.
Fereydoun Farrkhozad was quite critical with the Islamic government in Tehran in his shows and finally was assassinated in his home in Bonn in 1992. It has not been proved officially but it is widely believed that he has been killed by the agents of Iran's government.
Fereydoun Farrokhzad is the brother of the legendary Persian poet Forough Farrokhzad.
